Kettering Executive Network welcomes senior level executives (i.e. Director, VP and “C” level) across all industries and functions. Kettering Members are servant leaders that adhere to a “Pay it Forward” principle, actively helping each other and the community with business ideas, opportunities, mentorship and introductions.
Membership is by invitation only. The candidate is sponsored by a current Kettering member in good standing. The candidate must currently reside in the Metro Atlanta area (i.e. within 75-mile radius of the Georgia State Capital). The candidate’s most recent total compensation must have been at least $150,000 annually.
All candidates must meet strict criteria relating to experience and budgetary responsibility. To be approved for membership the candidate must meet one or more of the following three criteria:
A candidate must have had P&L responsibility for a company or division of a company for at least five years. Top line revenue must have been at least $10 million annually with oversite of at least 25 people.
A candidate must have had “top” leadership and management responsibility for one or more major functional areas within a company for at least five years. Functional areas may include, for example, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, etc. Top line revenue for the functional area must have been at least $10 million annually with oversite of at least 25 people.
A candidate must have been in an advisory role to the person responsible for running the company or division for at least five years. This role would typically be a “staff” person, without direct reports, reporting to the CEO of the company or President of the division. A candidate may also qualify under the advisory criteria if they worked for a firm (e.g. consulting firms, law firms, advertising firms) that advised senior executives (CEO or President) at third party client companies. This role would typically be a Partner or one level below in major advisory firms. Top line revenue for clients of advisory candidates must have been at least $10 million annually with at least 25 people.
Excluded from Kettering membership may be certain categories of professions where Kettering members would be considered their target market (e.g. financial advisors, franchise consultants, independent consultants/contractors, manufacturers’ representatives, realtors, executive recruiters, and executive coaches).
In summary, the candidate can anticipate proceeding through a six-step process: Invitation, Application, Interview, Peer Review, Board Approval, and Welcome.
NOTICE: Notwithstanding any other criteria, the Board of Directors reserves the right to accept or reject any nomination based on its sole judgment.
